A Note on Medical Marijuana in Connecticut

HARTFORD, CT January 18, 2014 – In 2012, the Connecticut legislature enacted legislation to allow for the sale of marijuana to individuals who suffer from certain debilitating medical conditions. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection has drafted regulations to implement this law. Although no dispensaries have opened yet, applications to open dispensaries are pending in several towns of Connecticut including East Hartford and Newington. In order to qualify to purchase medical marijuana, a person will need to get written certification from his/her physician.
