Attorney Profile

Attorney Jeremy Weingast is a former Hartford City Prosecutor who is now in private practice in family law, criminal defense and personal injury.

Attorney Weingast’s family law practice concentrates on issues involving child and sexual abuse, divorce, child support and custody and guardianship issues.

Attorney Weingast’s criminal defense work includes representing those accused of white collar crimes, youthful offenses, juvenile court matters, motor vehicle and DWI cases and drug crimes. He practices in state and federal court.

Jeremy brings a unique personal history to private practice.  He spent nine years as the Chief Prosecutor and Assistant State’s Attorney for Superior Court G.A. #14 in Hartford.   Before joining the State’s Attorney’s office he was the Deputy Legal Counsel to Connecticut’s late governor, Ella T. Grasso for five years.  This position gave Jeremy a unique perspective as he served as the Governor’s liaison to the legislature, Department of Correction, Department of Children and Families and the Attorney General’s Office.

Community Connections

An active member of the community, Jeremy is a board member of the Emanuel Synagogue Board of Trustees and has served as the congregation’s vice president.  Jeremy currently chairs the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery Committee and was formerly president of the Emanuel Synagogue Brotherhood. Jeremy has served on the Town of West Hartford Personnel Board with one term as its chair. He is currently on the Board of the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford.
